Thanks to innovative technical solutions and raising employee awareness, as well as the tremendous efforts of production and shift management in the manufacturing process, we have been able to reduce raw material losses significantly in recent years.
As a globally active company, we feel a strong responsibility to organise our corporate activities in an environmentally friendly way and to preserve nature for future generations. By using natural resources conscientiously and increasing our energy efficiency, we aim to protect biodiversity and preserve existing ecosystems.
The company environmental management system (EMS) ISO 14001 and the energy management system ISO 50001 (EnMS) are therefore valuable tools for our internal environmental and energy policy, with which we can reduce our negative environmental impact and energy consumption to a minimum within the scope of economic and technical feasibility and thus realise a continuous improvement in environmental and energy performance.
At Weinrich, we separate our waste into paper, plastic, aluminium foil and electronic waste, among other things. However, mixed municipal waste (including residual waste) consists of a mixture of materials, most of which are incinerated and thus utilised for energy recovery. We therefore attach particular importance to further reducing non-recyclable municipal waste.
The landscapers have installed additional rainwater tanks to water the plants on the company premises. In recent years, the storage capacity for rainwater has been increased to 28.000 litres. This allows us to save valuable city water for watering.
