Lean management - what is it anyway?
Lean management is not only about streamlining processes and procedures and making them more efficient, but also about significantly improving communication within the company.
As part of the Agricultural/Food Engineering and Management degree programme at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, students complete a practical project in our chocolate factory in the 5th semester. The theoretical knowledge acquired during their studies is applied directly to specific questions from operational practice and tested for feasibility.
A win-win situation: the students gain valuable practical experience and we as chocolate manufacturers gain a critical and optimising view from the outside.
The students scrutinise various methods, such as the Japanese "5S method", and work closely with Nico Schütte, our Head of Automation Technology, to check whether they can be implemented in our chocolate factory.
